FAKRO APF double pleated blind — Description

The manually operated FAKRO APF pleated blind is a premium solution that combines elegance with thermal protection. Its honeycomb fabric has an internal aluminum coating. This provides excellent insulation and total darkness. It is an ideal choice for bedrooms and energy-saving homes.

The top-down system allows you to operate the pleated blind using both the upper and lower bars. You have full control over privacy and light. Side aluminum guides (white or anodised) hold the fabric in place and allow you to stop the pleated blind in any position. To protect against summer heat, we recommend adding the FAKRO AMZ external awning blind.

Maintenance

The fabric is dust-resistant. Clean gently with a dry brush or vacuum cleaner (soft tip). If needed, wipe carefully with a damp cloth. Do not scrub or use strong detergents.

Yes, the FAKRO APF blind features a special honeycomb fabric with an internal aluminum layer that blocks virtually 100% of incoming light. It is the perfect choice for bedrooms or any room where you need total darkness, even during the day.
How does the honeycomb fabric improve insulation?
The unique honeycomb structure creates air pockets that act as an insulating buffer. Combined with the internal aluminum coating, this helps to keep heat out in the summer (reflecting sunlight) and retain warmth in the winter, potentially lowering your energy bills.
What is the difference between APS and APF pleated blinds?
Both models look elegant and offer the top-down operation system. The main difference is the fabric: APS provides a soft, diffused light effect, while APF offers full blackout and enhanced thermal insulation thanks to its aluminum-lined honeycomb structure. Choose APF for darkness and insulation, or APS for decoration and light diffusion.
Can I install the APF pleated blind in a bathroom or kitchen?
We do not generally recommend pleated blinds (both APF and APS) for high-humidity rooms like bathrooms, as moisture can affect the fabric's stiffness over time. For these areas, the aluminum FAKRO AJP Venetian Blind is a more durable, moisture-resistant solution.
How do I maintain and clean the APF?
The fabric is anti-static and dust-resistant. For regular cleaning, simply dust it with a soft brush or use a vacuum cleaner on the lowest suction setting. If necessary, wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth. Do not soak the fabric or scrub vigorously to avoid damaging the internal blackout layer.
